The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) offered a certification called “Certified Logistics Associate” (CLA) as part of their Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) program. The CLA exam is designed to assess the foundational knowledge and skills of individuals in the field of logistics and supply chain operations. After successfully earning the CLA certificate, you can pursue the CLT. This assessment focuses on the specific, technical “how-to” of logistics.
The core purpose of the MSSC CLT is to formally recognize individuals who have mastered the core competencies of material handling at the front-line level, from entry-level workers to front-line supervisors. The certification’s goal is to raise the performance of logistics technicians, helping them find higher-wage jobs while enabling employers to increase productivity and competitiveness. The curriculum covers:
Product Receiving, Storage, and Order Processing
Packaging, Shipping, and Inventory Control
Safe Handling of Hazardous Materials
Evaluation of Transportation Modes
Dispatch and Tracking Operations
