Book updated Jun 2026.

One can perform plumbing work in Minnesota if he is licensed with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) or registered with DLI as a registered unlicensed plumber, or enrolled in a DLI-registered apprenticeship program.

This book covers the Minnesota Journeyworker Plumber License Exam. A journeyworker plumber is an individual, other than a master plumber, who, as a principal occupation, is engaged as an employee of, or is otherwise working under the direction of, a master plumber in the practical installation of plumbing. This license authorizes the individual to work statewide, for both interior plumbing and exterior water service, sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems within the property lines.

We create these self-practice test questions module referencing the concepts and principles currently valid in the written exam. Each question comes with an answer and a short explanation which aids you in seeking further study information. We want to make sure these questions are tough enough to really test your readiness and draw your focus to the weak areas. Think of these as challenges presented to you so to assess your comprehension of the subject matters. The goal is to reinforce learning, to validate successful transference of knowledge and to identify areas of weakness that require remediation.
