The National Counselor Examination NCE measures one’s knowledge on theoretical and skill-based tenets that are necessary to practice safely and competently as an entry-level counselor. The knowledge areas covered include Professional Practice and Ethics; Intake, Assessment, and Diagnosis; Areas of Clinical Focus; Treatment Planning; Counseling Skills and Interventions; and Core Counseling Attributes. There are 200 multiple choice questions to be answered within 3 hours and 45 minutes.
