In the LA county (California), a Journeyman Gas Fitter is “A person who installs, alters or repairs gas piping, gas water heaters, gas vents or any part or parts thereof as an employee, who does not furnish any materials or supplies, and who is the legal possessor of a Journeyman Gas Fitters Certificate of Registration”. The definition is contained in section 105.2.4 of the 2002 Los Angeles County Plumbing Code.
